Steve Morris is a Dead Beat Dad. There is no doubt about it. Anyone who deliberately skips out on his child support payments and doesn't show up in court for hearings is a Dead beat dad, and that's Steve Morris. Steve had to be arrested on October 4th of 2004 because he would not show up at his court ordered child support payment hearing. I would think that if he was genuinely interested in making sure his kids are taken care of, he would show up in court...even if he didn't have the money...he could at least explain himself and give the appearance that he cares about his kids. But instead, Steve does what he always does when faced with the consequences of his decisions, he runs and hides. This is unfortunate for his children, who will probably grow up knowing their father is basically a loser. Steve Morris's first child is in Ohio I believe. I think she lives in Ohio. Below is a copy of the Hillsborough County court docket of the ongoing struggles the mother of his first child has in collecting on child support. It shows how his ex-wife has been pursuing him since 2002 to at least 2005. The docket shows Steve Morris's usual stall tactics. He waits until he has no choice to respond...then he responds with another delaying tactic. The Hillsborough County online records (www.hillsclerk.com) has not been updating their site since the Florida Supreme Court ruled about certain privacy concerns over a year ago. Anyway, even though Steve Morris has been hiding considerable assets, such as his office equipment and computers and $20,000 Data-Tel predictive dialer, and a brand new Mercedes SUV, he refuses to sell anything to raise cash to help pay his child support. Instead, Steve Morris uses this equipment to continue to defraud whoever he can get on the phone. Below is a link to the court documents related to the case above. One interesting item, There are two different versions of Steve Morris's SSN on these documents. Hmmmm... Steve_Morris_Child_Support_Neglect/fc4a0d13.pdf Below is a link to the case where his ex-wife in Tampa has been suing him for unpaid child support. There is also much more to this case. At one point in time Steve Morris had to go downtown to answer some questions about his son. What Steve told me was that someone had said that his son may have been molested, and Steve didn't say by who. I never heard anything about it again. | 2/21/2008 | Stacey | I think Florida is horrible about collecting child support. I am dealing with The state with collecting child support and never can speak to my case worker. We need a sight for deadbeat dads with their pictures on it. My ex can take trips, purchase big screen televisons, and support his new girlfriend and her two kids, but cant support our two. Its a sick world when you cant take care of your children. |
| 7/2/2009 | Concerned | Steve is now divorced and in hiding. He hasn't paid child support or seen his kids for a long time. He is pretending to be a very religious person. I don't think he understands the damage he is doing to his young children. I believe he went back to Canton, Ohio where his family lives. This man needs to be accountable for his actions. He is also driving with a suspended license, due to not paying child support. |
