Chickens are Coming Home to Roost For Steve Morris During the beginning of this year, Steve Morris and his wife, Sarah Morris fell into their 3rd foreclosure since owning their house in Lutz, Florida. When the first two foreclosure actions occurred, Steve Morris was able to borrow money from family members to get caught back up on his payments. Steve Morris probably borrowed a total of $20,000 from family members, but of course he never paid any of it back. This time around, it was probably tougher to find someone to lend the money. Left with little options, Steve and Sarah Morris sold their home to her parents for $285,000 on 1-22-08. At the same time, the buyers took out a mortgage on the same house in the amount of $228,000. That is probably what Steve Morris owed on the house including all of the penalties, late fees, taxes, etc. The numbers used above were taken directly from the Hillsborough County Clerk of the Circuit Court website. And, based on these numbers, it looks like Steve Morris netted about $57,000. Did he use any of this money to pay back his relatives...of course not. Did he use it to pay back any of his bills...I doubt it. On June 4th, 2008 the Hillsborough County Circuit Court ordered corrective action against Steve Morris after a judgment against him was issued on favor of Providian National Bank. The court docket does not reveal what the corrective action is. This case is most likely due to the fact that Steve Morris never pays his bills, and ran up a large credit card bill with his Providian Bank credit card. However, that is probably the least of Steve Morris's worries. On September 23rd, 2008, a FOURTH motion of contempt of court was filed against Steve Morris by the Florida State Department of Revenue for failure to pay his child support payments.
