Steve Morris Insurance Fraud

Here is another prime example of how Steve Morris of Tampa Florida uses people...including his own family.

In 2002 or 2003 there was a hail storm in Tampa, Florida. Steve Morris was leasing a Green Chevrolet Suburban and it was damaged in a hail storm. Because Steve's credit is and always has been really bad, the vehicle was leased in his Uncle's name. At the time, his insurance company was Nationwide...if I remember correctly. Well, Steve submitted the damage to the insurance company and collected the check for several thousand dollars. Of course, he never had the damage repaired.

Instead, Steve Morris turned the lease vehicle back to the leasing company and pocketed the money. So, what happens is that the leasing company sells the vehicle at auction and whatever they collect goes towards the unpaid balance on the lease...well, since this vehicle was damaged, it most likely did not fetch the price that it would if it had been repaired.

Guess who's stuck holding the bag? Steve's uncle.
