EZGreets.com - Steve Morris's Next Scam? Or an Old Scam Rehashed? It appears that Mr. Steve Morris of Lutz, FL has had his websites shutdown. Of course, that hasn't stopped him from promoting his latest scam, ezgreets.com. If you call his office phone number, 813-435-3201 it goes straight to voice mail and the message states that you've reached ezgreets dot com. Update 6/5/08 - His websites are now back up - he was hosting with Time Warner/Brighthouse and now he is hosting with Verizon. Update 6/28/08 - The website is down and has been down for around 2 weeks. Steve Morris still has his Semantics office sign up at his office, however, he has most likely dumped this corporation due to a large number of bills he has run up without paying. This would not be unusual as a Federal court in Tampa has found that Mr. Steve Morris fraudulently creates corporations to defraud his creditors. There are no Florida corporations listed with the ezGreets.com name. About a year ago, this website operator was contacted by a person who was very familiar with Mr. Steve Morris's operations and apparently he had started a pump and dump telemarketing company in the Canton Ohio area in 2005. In keeping with Mr. Morris's shady business practices, he closed it down on a Sunday night and moved everything out of the office before Monday morning, leaving his employees high and dry with no paycheck and no recourse. Similar to Steve Morris's other scams, his ezGreets.com scam is probably the same. He offers a free vacation if people sign up for his website with a one-time processing fee and a monthly charge. The vacation is usually a very cheap 3 day 2 night orlando or Bahamas vacation. He was most recently promoting Taino Beach Resort. update 06/06/08: If you do a web search on ezgreets.com, you'll find several complaints from people who were fraudulently billed by Steve Morris. Here are some links: EZ Greets is a ripoff. Please do not fall for it. It's a scam. Ezgreets.com Ripoff debited bank account for services never approved or wanted ucted
The processing fee is usually quite steep and is merely a way of charging for the vacation without telling the customer. This allows him to circumvent Florida laws that require the licensing of telemarketing rooms that sell vacations. In addition to the initial charge, there is also usually a monthly fee. In the past Mr. Morris has committed bank and wire fraud by charging his customers for multiple months in advance and of double depositing electronic checks of customers. The way this would work was Steve Morris would collect the checking account numbers and bank ABA numbers of his customers who did not have a credit card. He would then print out a check with their banking information on it and he would deposit it. Anyway, as of this writing, it appears that Steve Morris's websites have been shut down. Hopefully, they will stay that way and his career of scamming people and stealing their money will come to an end. Below is a screenshot from ezGreets.com before it was shut down. the site was designed by Steve Morris's partner in crime, Luis Acevedo.
