I "won" a vacation package in
August 2004 as part of an Internet Promotion. I would have to try
Amerigreet.com for 30-day trial period (with a cost). Then I found
that I had to pay $39 for this vacation package (I could take up to
3 other guests with me). I did receive a confirmtion e-mail, but was
not able to get onto the web site to print out a certificate. I did
not receive any certificate in the regular mail, either. I called
the customer service number I was given 1-877-624-7338 to find out
that this phone number is invalid. I remembered that the deal had to
do with Summer Bay Resorts, so I called them. They could not confirm
my vacation with my name, e-mail address, phone number or the
confirmation number I was given. They would, however, be able to
"book my vacation." As I was not able to make any travel commitments
at the time, I did not want to do this.
I since found out an
e-mail address and wrote to customer service. See below. They gave
me information that was invalid--as I later contacted the numbers
they gave me and those companies did not have me listed. They don't
even have vacation packages. They are discount services.
I am
again following up on this as I may be able to use the vacation now,
but now I have to wait until a weekday to call Summer Bay to try
again to confirm this vacation package. Now I am aware that there
are additional charges, I will take this into consideration when I
travel and make sure, if I take the trip, that I bring the maximum
amount of people (3) with me to insure that it will be worth it.
I will update you on what comes next.

Message Text : I
had a membership last year and have since cancelled. During the
time I was a member I purchased a Florida vacation package for $39
and was told I could use it within 18 months.
I was given a
password and told to go to the website to check out the details of
the deal. I was having computer problems at the time and could not
go to the website. I recently tried to get into the website to find
it and was not able to sign in. I never got any paperwork on
it in the mail. Now I can no longer log in as I am no longer a
member. How can I find out more information about my vacation
package. When I called the customer sercie number 1-877-624-7338.
The number is no longer valid.

I used
to work for this company...I used to do a lot of the inside work for
this company and am not too proud of it. I will say, that i did not
know what a horrible company this was when I was there, but know I
can see this. I do not know if any of this will help, but if you go
to www.bbb.com (better business bureau) and click on search a
company, then type in "Amerigreet" you'll get info on the company.
I'm not sure who is at the address listed, but I can tell you that
there are ways to find out. Also, just contact the state attorney
general of Florida and tell them what has happened. The more people
who insert complaints the better and do not give up. The people
running the business will not give up on continuously taking your
money, trust me. Good luck!! Oh, and Jean...you wrote to American
Greetings as stated in your report, this is not the same as
Amerigreet.

Thank
you for the response. I didn't realize that Amerigreet and American
Greetings were not the same. I thought Amerigreet was the Internet
branch of American Greetings.
Thank you for yoru suggestions.
I will make contacts as you
suggested.
